Install WordPress on a Mac with Desktop Server

Download and install Desktop Server on your Mac.

Both free and paid versions are available and they come with different features but the free version is good to go with.

Open Desktop Server, restart with privileges to make changes to the Apache and MySQL services on your machine.

Enter account's password on prompt and click OK. You can create a local WordPress website now by simply choosing from the option provided.

Next, choose the domain where you want the installation located or create new.

Desktop Server will provide the URL of your install. Go to it to complete the WordPress installation. Click the link to open it in your browser.
