How to encrypt the connection between your email client and the mail server

SmarterMail can support secure remote login to the mail server using TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secured Socket Layer). To take advantage of this feature, you will need to configure your email client with the correct TLS/SSL settings.

TLS vs SSL
There are two email settings you can choose to secure your connection: TLS or SSL. We recommend using TLS (or "Auto," if available). If you need to manually set the ports, please use these settings:
SMTP TLS (Port 25)POP TLS (Port 110)IMAP TLS (Port 143)

Common name mismatch warning: The certificate installed on the Indsoft email servers has a common name of mail.dakghar.net. If you are using your own domain name as the email server (e.g. mail.yourdomain.com) a warning message may appear. The warning can be ignored and the certificate trusted.

If you replace the server name in your email client with the specific server name (changing mail.yourdomain.com to mail.dakghar.net), you can avoid the certificate mismatch warning. Contact support to get the name of the mail server hosting your domain, or log in to Control Panel and click the Domains tab, then click the "Manage" link in the DNS column and look for the Mail Server listed in the Manage MX Records section.
